What we collect
The reading room is a static editorial site. The desk collects the minimum data needed to operate: web-server logs (which are rotated weekly) and any message a reader chooses to send through the contact form. The desk does not run analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking.
What we do not collect
The desk does not collect IP addresses for advertising. The desk does not run cookies for cross-site tracking. The desk does not run a third-party analytics service. The desk does not sell reader data to anyone.
Cookies
The reading room sets no cookies and stores nothing in the reader's browser. The platform's affiliate route is a server-side redirect that does not write a cookie to the reader's browser.
The contact form
If the reader sends a message through the contact form, the desk stores the message in its editorial inbox and replies within two working days. The desk deletes the message after the reply is sent, unless the reader asks for a longer correspondence.
Reader rights
The reader may request a copy of any data the desk holds about them, ask for the data to be deleted, or ask for the data not to be processed. Send the request to the editorial contact desk.
