Why the math matters at the table
The math of sequence probability is the read of the round. A player who knows the rough probability of drawing a particular card makes better discard decisions than a player who does not. The figures below are working references, not guarantees.
The probability table for beginners
- At least one pure sequence of three in a 13-card hand: ~94%
- At least one pure sequence of four: ~74%
- Two pure sequences: ~36%
- At least one joker in the hand: ~33%
What card counting does to the table
If the table has thrown three 8s, the probability of drawing the fourth 8 in your next pick is much lower than the textbook figure. The discipline is to count the table's throws as carefully as your own picks.
How to use the table at the table
Read the table once a session, before you sit down. The numbers stay in your head during play and you will not need to consult the table mid-round. The reading is a calibration, not a forecast.
